The world is a far more scary and complicated place than it was when you were a kid. As a result, it’s imperative that you set adequate yet fair boundaries with your toddler. It’s a really important role in your parenting responsibilities. Young children must make challenging decisions each day, and if they don’t have clear, firm boundaries arranged, they may possibly not always make the wisest choice. Limits teach young people proper restraint in social and individual activities and present youngsters with essential structure and security to assist in healthy development. Setting limits also offer young children with guidance before they have an opportunity to get into trouble, thus making them more successful with everyday life.

A child’s age and developmental level desires to be considered when setting limits. All young children have a will need for independence and individualization; nonetheless, they also need to have structure, security and parental involvement. It goes without saying that the demands of a 2-year old vary greatly than those of a teenager. A toddler has a strong desire to explore and investigate, but parameters need to have to be arranged to ensure their safety whilst doing so. Teenagers need to be able to be an individual and be independent, but with strong parental guidance and influence, are more probably to make smart choices in difficult situations.
Limits must be discussed and arranged prior to the situation. Though circumstances arise that weren’t planned on, daily situations ought to have arranged limits and expectations. A teenager who breaks curfew may well have the privilege of going out with friends revoked until they discover respect for the guidelines. A little one who misbehaves while playing with a friend may well have to have to be separated from the fun until they can understand to correctly behave.

Children respond in a positive manner in an environment in which they know what to expect and what is excepted of them. A kid will be more respectful towards principles and more willing to abide by them if the guidelines are clear and consistent. Additionally, it is crucial that once a limit is set that they caregiver stick to it. A baby is much less likely to try and manipulate a caregiver into changing the limits when their experience has been that there’s no bending on the limits. And remember, you are the one who sets the limits and lays down the law. There’s no require to argue with your child. Be firm and consistent and they’re much less probably to challenge the principles and will accept the consequences.

If you are a new mother or father, you’ll no doubt have your hands full. And as a new mother or father, your name and address has no question found its way on to a parent mailing list or new parent mailing list. Marketing firms frequently collect your info to create a new parent list, which they sell to a variety of industries. Quite a few organizations will send you offers in the mail for valuable products and services you may need as a new dad or mum. You will want to watch your mailbox for these kinds of offers, as they are able to save you tons of time and money, along with provide you with excellent parenting ideas and tricks!

What can have happened? What is in the environment, kids’ food that has made the number of cases of ADHD to skyrocket in the last ten years? These are really important questions. The most typical symptom of ADHD is lack of focus and most parents of ADHD kids say ‘my son can not focus’.

The question of focus was even brought up recently in the British Parliament when an MP put forward some research which suggests that increased use of Internet might be a possible cause of ADHD. Why could this be true? More research needs to be done, obviously, but it has been pointed out that on the internet relationships don’t need a sensitivity to the inflection of the voice, eye contact, tone of voice or body language. Too much time on the web could mean that the child is not going to concentrate simply because of the ease of instant gratification obtained by the media. The same goes for texting and cell phones.

Many parents are unaware or merely overlook that when they complain that ‘my son cannot focus’ they are forgetting the fact that occasionally hyperfocus comes into play and they forget about this. The truth of the matter is that kids with ADHD frequently have widely diverse levels of inattention and this can go from one extreme of complete inattentiveness to that of a hyperfocused state where the activity is so riveting for the toddler, that he becomes oblivious of everything else around him.

Frequently boring and required tasks like homework will have no appeal for the ADHD toddler simply because it doesn’t give the instant gratification that other tasks or activities give, for instance a movie or computer game. ‘My son can’t focus’ is not going to just consist of a lack of attention to detail or forgetting his schoolbag. It seems to be a a lot more complex issue.

When and if ADHD is diagnosed, there will probably be a lot of sorts of treatment competing for your attention. You may not wish to blast your child’s brain with powerful mind altering psychostimulants for example Strattera and Ritalin which can have some nasty side effects for example chest pains, irregular heart beat, blurred vision, liver damage and at times even stunted growth. What with regards to ADHD natural remedies which will use non addictive ingredients in a gentler remedy which will increase concentration, memory and will calm your child? The toddler who won’t concentrate will be a thing from the past. You can find no side effects either. Soon, you will not be repeating the complaint that ‘my son cannot focus’.

Here is the technique I suggest parents to follow:

Buy cotton training pants they are better for your child – you want them to grasp the concept the feel of cotton.

First, do not use disposable training pants for example, “Huggies” or “Pull-Ups”. They are too much like a diaper and when your toddler urinates it will absorb the wetness and this tends to confuse them. Always…do what you think is right for your toddler.

Suggestion use plain cotton training underpants these training pants can be compared to normal underwear. But they have a little extra padding in the crotch area. You can usually find them in any store that sells children clothing.

I went to Target and bought some Dora the Explorer training panties for my daughter. I recommend that you buy approximately 9-12 pairs of the underpants and several pairs of nylon (plastic) pants. This can be worn over the cotton underpants. It would be wise to use underpants with the plastic pants over them; this will help to protect your child’s clothing. But of course the choice is yours!

Make a decision to when you want to begin potty training your toddler. Clear the calendar and be sure that there is nothing traumatic going on in you or your child’s life. This can give you and your child a late start and potty training needs your full attention.

Enlighten your little one they are going to start using “big boy” or “big girl” underwear, or whatever term you like to use. It is also important, that you are able to follow in a consistent method. If your toddler attends preschool, make sure the caregiver(s) understand your way of potty training. This is what you are doing and you require them to follow the same method. When you are away from home or when you have company stay consistent and follow through.

Be aware that your toddler may still wet their underpants and soil them occasionally. Accidents will happen so be prepared for a lot of soiled laundry. As a matter of fact, this may happen over and over again. Just remember to remain calm and patient because very few children will be accident free in the early stages of potty training. Trust me my daughter had her share of accidents, but she is a big girl now!

When your toddler tells you or you have noticed that they have wet their pants. Immediately take them into the bathroom, and remove the wet underpants and clothing. Put them on the potty; explain to them in your own words the importance of remembering to go to the potty or in the big toilet.

Help your toddler understand this because you do want them to be confused – meaning that you do want to just say, “Oh no, Sally Joe! This cannot happen anymore!” “Let mommy know when you got to go, please Sally Joe.” and then Sally Joe will be back into diapers and pull-ups.

Why do it twice when this can be done once and the right way.

Suggestion start monitoring the amount of liquids that your child intake. If say for instance after breakfast; allow up to 15 to 30 minutes to past (enough time for their little bodies to digest their food and fill their bladder) tell them sit on the potty- be stern while doing this. Make sure they have a sipper cup full of juice so they can sit and sip- this will keep them hydrated while they are sitting on the potty.

Do something to occupy their little mind; put them in front of the t.v. or give them a book to read. The newspaper worked for me! This way they can get used to sitting on it or the feel of it. Remember that this is not punishment so do not stick them in a corner.

Do not allow them to get up – stay firm. If you have to sit there and watch Sponge-Bob or Dora the Explorer with them-whatever it takes. Monitor the time that have been sitting there-they have small bodies and some work faster than others- just let them know that you are there.

All done…That is Mom’s “Big Boy” or “Big Girl”!

Have your child flush or watch you empty the pot in the toilet; this will help them grasp the concept of # 1 and # 2 goes in the toilet, preferably if they went in the potty. I suggest that you use this step because what is the point of flushing an empty toilet.

After flushing, go to the sink and wash your hands together.

Hand washing should be done; this will teach your toddler great personal hygiene. By flushing the toilet and washing hands, you are getting your child ready what happens when you go potty. These are steps you should repeat over and over, in a consistent pattern, until your child is fully potty trained.

If your child is terrified to be placed on the toilet, or if continues soiling their underpants for days, with no urination or bowel movements in the toilet, then your child needs a little more patience and time-they may not be ready for potty training at this time.

Add activities that your child may find fun, stop potty training for a while, and resume again when your child might be more ready.

Several parents would like to know the most excellent and easiest approach to potty train their toddler. Because now day’s time is money and many parents are working hard just to make ends meet. I know that it is hard out there but we as parents must obligate time to potty (toilet) train our babies.

This is a life skill that is being taught and some little ones learn at different paces. That is why knowing your child is crucial for this process-your toddler understands, behaviors, and interests are different from others. So, do not let what others say dictates how you potty train.

This guide will give you a better insight on where to begin and what to look out for while toilet training your toddler.

To begin toilet training your toddler, you must know if your toddler one has shown an actual interest in using the potty / toilet. When my daughter began to walk good on her own; I first noticed her interest in toilet training after she would follow me into the bathroom and watch and ask me a bunch of questions.

Now, as a parent I feel that this is a natural bond and I chose to let it grow. Now, if your child shows curiosity; your child is ready and toilet training will be much easier.

But….if you haven’t had any luck and your toddler has not posed a strong interest, then your attempts will be useless. And in the end you might find yourself all flustered, irritated and discouraged that potty training did not have a successful outcome.

The key is to start toilet training when your toddler is ready; and not when you are ready. Remember we all learn at different paces, be patient!

Before you start to potty training your toddler, you should first ask yourself; whether your child shows signs of readiness?

Five top signs of potty training readiness:

Stays dry for a several hours or even overnight.

Knows when he or she has wet or soiled his diaper (pull-up), and knows what “potty”, “pee”, “poop”, etc…

Shows independence by wanting to do things by their self with no assistance from you

Pull his pants down and up.

Asks questions and/or show interest when others go “potty”.

If you answer yes to most & hopefully all of the above signs of readiness, you may be ready to begin teaching your toddler the fundamentals of toilet training.
