Potty Training Age Range

planning a cruise with my mom and my 3 kids, which do you recommend?

Hi!, never been on a cruise and my mom wants to treat us to one this upcoming July, but here’s the dilemma: my mom is a senior and she only likes the casinos (slots), I have: a 13 year old so it has to have activities for teens; a 4 year old who loves to swim and a 2 year old not yet potty trained and I’ve heard they don’t allow swim diapers in the cruises’ pools. We’d be departing from Fort Lauderdale or Miami since we live here and the destinations in the Caribbean I guess aren’t so important as much as the ship, as I want one that combines the best activities for all these age ranges. If you have any suggestions, I’ll really appreciate it.

I think a cruise will be perfect for your group…something for everyone. Nearly all the major cruise lines have good kid/teen programs. I would probably look at Carnival and Royal Caribbean first. Carnival will be a little cheaper. RC might have a few features that Carnival doesn’t. If you do go Carnival, look for one of their newer ships. You could do Disney, but they are more buck for what is probably similar bang. I would look for something in the 5-7 day range.

Sailing from Florida you will have tons of choices. You should be able to find something very nice and still affordable. Might not be a bad idea to sign up a good travel agent who knows all the angles and can help you choose between the dozens of options you’ll have.

You say that destination doesn’t matter, but all else being equal, you may as well go someplace nice. Eastern or Southern Caribbean is generally better than Western Caribbean or Bahamas, in my opinion.

I hope your mom doesn’t mind spending some cash to enjoy her slot habit. Normal slots take your money slowly, while cruise ships slots take it with greater efficiency.
