Potty Training Accidents
Potty Training Accidents

How many accidents should be expected the first week after potty training a young toddler?
Sorry to ask again, but I wanted more answers than I got the other day in the toddler section.
Would you expect one or more accidents a day in the beginning, or not even that?
Can you give me an idea of what’s a normal # of accidents (and for how long) while still considering the child to be making progress?
Should there just be way more hits than misses, or is there a general number of times?
Thanks!
yes, the first week after starting the process of teaching them how to go, etc.
Do you mean the first week after starting potty training, or the first week after finishing potty training? If you are finished potty training, accidents will be few and far between (less than one a week for sure). If you just started potty training a week ago, you can expect one or more accidents a day, I would think. I kept mine in pull ups until we were finished potty training, so I never really considered them accidents, more like “misses” I suppose. I switched to underwear once the pull-up was dry all day for a few days in a row. After that there were maybe one or two accidents over several months.
