Several parents would like to know the most excellent and easiest approach to potty train their toddler. Because now day’s time is money and many parents are working hard just to make ends meet. I know that it is hard out there but we as parents must obligate time to potty (toilet) train our babies.

This is a life skill that is being taught and some little ones learn at different paces. That is why knowing your child is crucial for this process-your toddler understands, behaviors, and interests are different from others. So, do not let what others say dictates how you potty train.

This guide will give you a better insight on where to begin and what to look out for while toilet training your toddler.

To begin toilet training your toddler, you must know if your toddler one has shown an actual interest in using the potty / toilet. When my daughter began to walk good on her own; I first noticed her interest in toilet training after she would follow me into the bathroom and watch and ask me a bunch of questions.

Now, as a parent I feel that this is a natural bond and I chose to let it grow. Now, if your child shows curiosity; your child is ready and toilet training will be much easier.

But….if you haven’t had any luck and your toddler has not posed a strong interest, then your attempts will be useless. And in the end you might find yourself all flustered, irritated and discouraged that potty training did not have a successful outcome.

The key is to start toilet training when your toddler is ready; and not when you are ready. Remember we all learn at different paces, be patient!

Before you start to potty training your toddler, you should first ask yourself; whether your child shows signs of readiness?

Five top signs of potty training readiness:

  • Stays dry for a several hours or even overnight.
  • Knows when he or she has wet or soiled his diaper (pull-up), and knows what “potty”, “pee”, “poop”, etc…
  • Shows independence by wanting to do things by their self with no assistance from you
  • Pull his pants down and up.
  • Asks questions and/or show interest when others go “potty”.

If you answer yes to most & hopefully all of the above signs of readiness, you may be ready to begin teaching your toddler the fundamentals of toilet training.
