My new puppy keeps peeing and popping in her travel crate!?

My husband and I traveled out of state to get this 16 wk old puppy we have. Since then, shes been peeing and pooping in her travel crate. She would then lick her pee, and eat up the poop. We take her out occassionally to do her business on the potty pad but she keeps soiling in the crate. Any advice?

Dogs don’t naturally soil their sleeping area. I take it you are crate training the dog? Anyhow you have to go back to the basics. Feed the dog twice a day and leave food out for about 30 minutes. Normally, within 20 to 30 minutes after eating a dog will have a bowel movement, so take it outside. Do not put food or water in the crate. If the puppy is allowed to eat and drink during the night, it can’t help itself. Good luck.
